Multiplication is the one of the type of basic arithmetic operations. Usually addition, subtraction ,multiplication and division are the basic operations. Here we are going to discuss about multiplication operation. ‘x’ or‘.’ is the operator to identify the multiplication symbol. It is used to multiply two or more numbers.
Properties of Multiplication:
1. Multiplication o f Commutative property (a . b) = (b . a)
2. Multiplication of Associative property (a . b) c = a (b . c)
3. Multiplication of Distributive property a . (b + c) = (a . b) + (a . c)
4. Multiplication of Identity element a . 1 = a
5. Multiplication of Zero element a . 0 = a
6. Multiplication of Negation (-1) . a = - a and (-1) . (-1) = 1
7. Multiplication of Inverse element a . (1a) = 1
